The Idaho State Independent Living Council (SILC) Is Looking for New Members

The SILC actively engages in activities that help provide Idahoans with disabilities a greater voice in obtaining services that are consumer responsive, cost effective and community based. We are solutions oriented: collaborating with people with disabilities, public agencies and private, non-profit and for-profit organizations to improve quality of life and increase independence for Idahoan’s with disabilities.

Mission

We elevate the voices of people with disabilities, breaking down systemic barriers to inclusion and integration through advocacy and enhancing the ability of Idahoans with disabilities to live independently, direct their lives and strengthen their communities.

The SILC is recruiting new members
for the following positions:

•Region 2 – Adult with a disability who does not work for the State or a Center for Independent Living (Latah, Nez Perce, Clearwater, Lewis and Idaho Counties) -Disability Action Center-NW Service Area

•Statewide – Adult who is blind or visually impaired who does not work for the State or a Center for Independent Living from any region

•Statewide – Disabled Veteran who does not work for the State or a Center for Independent Living from any region

•Statewide – Young adult (18-26) with a disability from any region
