The Idaho State Independent Living Council (SILC) Is Looking for New Members
What we do: We elevate the voices of people with disabilities. We break down systemic barriers to inclusion and integration through advocacy. We
work to enhance the ability of Idahoans with disabilities to live independently, direct their lives and strengthen their communities.
Who we are looking for: Dedicated, passionate community members from every region of the state across disabilities.
Time Commitment: The Council meets quarterly (online January and July, in-person in Boise April and October).
The SILC is recruiting new members
for the following positions:
- Region 2 – Adult with a disability who does not work for the State or a Center for Independent Living (Latah, Nez Perce, Clearwater, Lewis and Idaho Counties) -Disability Action Center-NW Service Area
- Region 3 – Adult with a disability who does not work for the State or a Center for Independent Living (Adams, Washington, Payette, Gem, Canyon, and Owyhee Counties)-Living Independence Network Corporation (LINC) Service Area
- Region 4 – Adult with a disability who does not work for the State or a Center for Independent Living (Valley, Boise, Elmore and Ada Counties)-Living Independence Network Corporation (LINC) Service Area
- Region 6 – Adult with a disability who does not work for the State or a Center for Independent Living (Butte, Bingham, Bannock, Bear Lake, Caribou, Franklin, Oneida, and Power Counties) – Life, A Center for Independent Living Service Area
- Region 7 – Adult with a disability who does not work for the State or a Center for Independent Living (Lemhi, Custer, Butte, Clark, Freemont, Jefferson, Madison, Teton, Bingham, Bonneville, Minidoka, Cassia, Power, Bannock, Caribou, Oneida, Franklin, and Bear Lake counties) – Life, A Center for Independent Living Service Area
- Adults with a disability-At-Large from any region Statewide who does not work for the State or a Center for Independent Living
- Statewide- Disabled Youth (age 18 to 26) from any region who does not work for the State or a Center for Independent Living
